Custom Suit Tailoring in Fullerton, CA

Off the rack, made to measure, or inherited: we fit the jacket, the trousers, and the vest to your body, from the shoulders to the break, and press it so it holds. Seven to ten days, hand-finished, priced before we start.

Almost no suit fits off the hanger, and a made-to-measure suit still arrives needing a tailor's eye. What makes a suit look custom is the fit: a shoulder seam that ends where your shoulder does, a sleeve that shows a quarter inch of cuff, a jacket that follows your back without pulling, trousers that break once on the shoe. We take the suit you have and make every one of those things true, in-house, with the same tailor from the first pinning to the final press.

Sleeves, sides, back, and length on the jacket; waist, seat, taper, and hem on the trousers; the vest to match. Working buttonholes are handled from the shoulder. Every price is on the menu below, and the tailoring calculator adds up your suit before you come in. We do not cut suits from cloth; if you are buying made-to-measure, bring us the finished suit for the fitting the maker cannot do from a distance.

The fitting

How a suit fitting goes.

  1. Book

    Full suit fittings are by appointment so you have the tailor's whole attention. Book online or call; walk in for a hem or a sleeve.

  2. Wear it

    Come in the shirt, shoes, and belt you will wear with the suit. We pin the jacket on your body and mark the trousers on your shoes.

  3. We work

    Seven to ten business days standard, three to five express, or 24 to 48 hours rush, agreed before we start. Every seam is hand-finished and the suit is pressed.

  4. Try it on

    Put the whole suit on at pickup. If a sleeve or a hem is off by a hair, we fix it then, not later.

  • The dress shirt you will wear with it, so the cuff shows correctly

  • Anything you carry in the jacket every day: phone, wallet
  • For a wedding party, the others in the party, or their measurements

The standard

What a well-fitted suit looks like.

  • The shoulder seam ends at the point of your shoulder, with no divot below it
  • The collar sits flat on the shirt collar with no gap and no roll
  • About a quarter to half an inch of shirt cuff shows below the jacket sleeve
  • The jacket buttons without pulling at the button and covers the seat
  • The trousers sit at the waist you chose and break once, cleanly, on the shoe
  • The vest meets the trouser waistband with no shirt showing between

Questions we get about custom suits

How much does it cost to tailor a suit?
Sleeves are $29.90, sides or back $35, a trouser hem $8, and a waist $14, so a typical off-the-rack suit runs about $75 to $115. Working buttonholes take the sleeves to $69.90. The tailoring calculator adds up your suit; the price is confirmed at the fitting.
Can a suit be taken in two sizes?
One size is routine; two is usually possible on the jacket sides and the trouser waist, but the shoulders and the chest set the limit, and we tell you at the fitting whether the suit will look right at the end. Beyond that, buy the smaller size and let us fit it.
Can you let a suit out?
As far as the seam allowance goes, which on most suits is one to two inches at the waist and about an inch at the jacket sides. We check the inlays at the fitting before quoting.
Can you shorten sleeves with working buttonholes?
Yes, from the shoulder, so the buttonholes stay where they are. It is $69.90 a jacket and takes the full seven to ten days.
How long does suit tailoring take?
Seven to ten business days standard. Express is three to five days at 25% more, and rush is 24 to 48 hours at 50% more, both agreed before we start. A hem alone can often be done sooner.
Do you make suits from scratch?
No. We are tailors and alterations specialists: we fit and finish the suit you have, whether it is off the rack, made to measure, or handed down. If you are ordering made-to-measure, bring the finished suit to us for the fitting.
Do you fit wedding party suits and tuxedos?
Yes, the groom, the groomsmen, and the fathers, on the same schedule as the bride's alterations. Bring the party in together where you can so the lengths match.
How often should a suit be dry cleaned?
Every three to five wearings, or when it needs it; too often wears the cloth. Between cleanings, a press-only visit ($10 for a two-piece) puts the shape back. Dry cleaning a two-piece suit is $15.
